Lovely thoughts, lovely friend and lovely neighborhood you have.
Today I went on a walk to check up on a birch tree that I have been following in its decline. A year ago I thought it was a goner, broken off branches scattered around its base, its top branch broken off at its height. But the tree returned to its (somewhat diminished) glory in the summer, turned golden in the fall and then hunkered down through the winter. Today I saw its flowering catkins among its leaves. It is gathering itself for another year. This tree gave new meaning to the concept of "aging in place."
A lovely piece.Thank you!
Thank you, Jeanie! And thanks for reading.
It really inspired me to think today about how I am missing nature. Glad to be reminded of many things!
Beautifully pondered, Nancy.
Thanks, Patrick, and thank you for reading!

Love your thoughts here - your reflection on a birch who offers a new meaning to the idea of aging in place.
